DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arequipa – Historical Center – Yanahuara Viewpoint – World Zoo – Founder’s Mansion – Sabandia Mill – Arequipa

  • We have 3 schedules so you can know the monumental case and surroundings of this beautiful city: 09.00 am, 11.00 am and 2.00 pm.
  • We will pick you up 15 minutes before the start of the tour, at the HOTEL located in the circuit of the Plaza de Armas.
  • This tour is done in a panoramic bus and lasts 4 hours; the whole tour is inside and outside the city of Arequipa, we will start at the Plaza de Armas and the places to visit are: colonial buildings, museums and main streets of the city.
  • In this Arequipa tour we will visit: Plaza de Armas Arequipa and its bronze basin with a sculpture made of copper of a little goblin with a trumpet, it is said that it once had wings, but over the years it was lost, this sculpture is known as Tuturutu. Day 2: Arequipa – Majes Valley – Toro Muerto Petroglyphs – Arequipa

  • 04.50 hrs We will pick you up at the hotel in the circuit of the Plaza de Armas.
  • 05.00 hrs We move by bus to the town of Corire, this is the closest town to the petroglyphs of Toro Muerto.
  • Our first visit to the region of Arequipa is in TORO MUERTO, place where we will find more than 6,000 thousand stones engraved with phytomorphic, zoomorphic, anthropomorphic and geometric shapes. We will have the opportunity to know in situ the historical legacy of our pre-Columbian cultures such as: Wari, Chuquibamba and Inca. This visit will last 03 hrs.
  • They are manifestations of rock art in the Majes Valley distributed over an area of 5 km2, extending between 400 and 800 meters above sea level. It is perhaps the richest area in rock art in the world. Volcanic rocks abound in this site because there are two volcanoes relatively close to the Arequipa excursions, the Chachani and the Coropuna. These blocks are engraved under the bas-relief technique and that would have its dating, according to studies of iconography, in the year 800 A.D. and were discovered only in 1951.

Day 3: Arequipa – Pichu Pichu Volcano – Arequipa

Pichu Pichu is a volcano located east of the city of Arequipa. It is very eroded and consists of seven peaks, of which the Coronado is the main summit and the highest. It preserves a ceremonial platform, in which the Incas made offerings on its summits where in 1964 the first mummy of Altura del Peru was found.

The Pichu Pichu is an extinct volcano, located in the Cordillera Volcanica del Sur del Peru, with a height of 5,542 meters above sea level. The origin of this volcano is explained by several legends. One of them tells that a warrior raped the daughter of the Inca, whom he left pregnant and did not want to accept responsibility, so he was persecuted. Desperate, he wanted to flee by the road that leads to the Balneario de Jesus, but tired, he fell asleep at nightfall on the slopes of a hill. When dawn broke, he was castrated and punished for his rebellion by the sun, which condemned him to eternal sleep.   • We will have a brief talk about safety and the proper use of equipment. The participant can do several climbing sessions, depending on their physical condition: Top rop and sport routes.
  • After this exciting sport, we will return to Arequipa at approximately 14.00 hrs.
  • At the agreed time, transfer to the airport.
