With the tour “City Tour Tarapoto”, you can enjoy nature while discovering the wildlife of the 4 most visited destinations of Tarapoto and the entire jungle in San Martin. Tarapoto, a city in central-eastern Peru on the edge of the Amazon rainforest, is the most populated city in the department of San Martin and the average annual maximum temperature is 29 °C.

In this tour you will be able to know some of the cultural attractions of Tarapoto without leaving the city, you will visit the cigar factory Tabacalera del Oriente and you will know its meticulous process of artisan elaboration of its cigars. You will witness the industrial elaboration process of the chocolate factory La Orquídea and you will be able to see different types of wild animals in the Urkus reserve and learn a little more about the important work of this association.

Day 01: City Tour Tarapoto

DETAILED ITINERARY

City Tour Tarapoto (09.00 am – 12.00 pm)

09.00 am In this tour we will pick you up at your hotel to go first to the artisan cigar factory, Tabacalera del Oriente. There we will have a guided tour of its facilities where we will learn the process of making these tasty cigars of international success.
Then we will visit the Chocolate La Orquídea factory where we will learn about the chocolate manufacturing process. Finally we will visit the Urkus Animal Reserve. There we will visit its facilities and the animals that are temporarily housed there because the mission of this organization is to rescue abused wild animals and prepare them for their reintroduction into the jungle.
12.00 am We will drop you back at your hotel.
