With the “Laguna Azul Tarapoto Tour”, you can enjoy nature while discovering the wildlife of the 4 most visited destinations of Tarapoto and the entire jungle in San Martin.  Tarapoto, a city in central-eastern Peru on the edge of the Amazon rainforest, is the most populous city in the department of San Martin and the average annual maximum temperature is 29 °C.

In this tour you will visit the most visited destination in San Martin, the Blue Lagoon, you will cross the Huallaga River in a captive raft where we will put the car before arriving at the lagoon. We will take a boat ride on the lagoon for about an hour visiting its most interesting places, you can bathe in the lagoon itself and take a horseback ride along the shore of the tourist recreation the pipe.

Optionally you can perform other activities such as kayak canopy or jet ski and finally we can have lunch on the shore of the lagoon an exquisite tourist menu of regional food.

SHORT ITINERARY

  • Day 01: Blue Lagoon

DETAILED ITINERARY

Blue Lagoon (08.30 am – 04.00 pm)

  • 08.30 am We will pick you up at your hotel to go to the town of Sauce, where the Blue Lagoon is located.
  • We will travel 2 hours and we will make 2 stops: the first one to cross the Huallaga River in a captive raft where we will transport the car and the second one at the viewpoint of the punta del gallinazo, an elevated place from where you can see the whole green riverbank of the Huallaga.
  • Once we arrive to Sauce, we will go to its port and take a boat to navigate the lagoon for about 1 hour. Then we will dock the boat in the recreation area of the caño. There we will swim in the lagoon and take a short horseback ride around the lagoon.
  • It is also possible to practice additional activities (not included) such as kayaking, canopy and jet skiing. At the end of the tour, we will have lunch on the shores of the lagoon with a tourist menu where you can choose from various dishes of Amazonian cuisine.
  • Then at 04.00 pm we will start our return to Tarapoto and around 06.00 pm we will drop you off at your hotel.
