With the tour Adventure Sports in Ica Sandboarding or “Buggies & Sandboarding”, you can enjoy two adventure sports in one, which consists of boarding powerful and fast tubular cars or sandboxes, which will climb the desert dunes, raising the adrenaline to the maximum, fantastic rides that will take you through spectacular places up to the high parts of the dunes.

A BUGUI, or sandbox, is a vehicle designed to ride in the sand. It usually has a light chassis, a body without a hard top and large wheels. Buggies are mainly intended for people who enjoy driving or designing this type of vehicle. Thanks to their large wheels they are often used in coastal areas and deserts, where they can move freely and jump between the many dunes.

SANDBOARDING, which allows you to glide on a board over the appropriate dune slopes. Depending on your skill and the waxing of the base of the board, you can reach extreme speeds in the descent, without risk of physical damage, except, probably wallowing in the sand, it is great fun.

All slides are monitored and supervised by professional instructors, who give prior training to the participants; no experience is necessary.

Day 1: Buggies – Sandboarding – Huacachina Lagoon

• Start of the trip to Ica 09.00 or 16.00 hrs We will pick you up at the hotel in either of the two schedules and we will travel by tourist transport to the dunes of Ica.
• Extreme Adventure Tour: We will board the sand carts called buggies, we will go up and down these sand hills where we will observe the desert landscapes and Sandboarding we will go through the wide and beautiful areas of the desert dunes.
• Don’t forget that for sliding, it is necessary to apply wax under the board, so it won’t go too fast and it will be easier for you to sandboard. If you are going to slide standing up, adjust the straps of the board well, make sure that your ankles and feet are well supported by the straps. If you are lying down, keep your arms and elbows on the board. Don’t pull them out for nothing. If you want to brake, the correct way is to stick your feet out the back and dig them into the sand. But, if the board is going fast, braking is not recommended.
• Keep an eye on the board, if it falls, it will go so fast that you won’t be able to stop it even if you run after it. Avoid the heat: Sandboard at the times we suggest because so much sun will make you spend too much energy.  Keep in mind that you should have at least 1 or 2 bottles of water to avoid dehydration.
• Be careful with your phone, tablet, camera or any gadget you carry. Not only can they be damaged, but they can be lost under the sand, it is better to carry a small backpack to keep them safe.
• Then, we will take a short break to recreate in the Huacachina Lagoon, the oasis of Huacachina a resort in the middle of the desert that today has become one of the icons of Ica, includes several lagoons being the most representative the Huacachina Lagoon, a word that comes from the Quechua word “huaccac china” which means “woman’s cry” where you can take yacht rides on the lake.
• This natural oasis surrounded by vegetation cover and desert dunes, has plants such as huarango, toñuz and hawthorn, which serve as habitat for the existing fauna and are closely related to birds such as the American owl, the chaucato and other species of birds and reptiles such as the lizard of the gramadales which is an important biological controller. It is also the habitat of two reptile species of the Peruvian coastal desert: the sand lizard, a national endemic species, and the lizard of the hills.
