With the Huacamillo Tarapoto Waterfall Tour or “Huacamaillo Waterfall”, you can enjoy nature while discovering the wildlife of the 4 most visited destinations of Tarapoto and the entire jungle in San Martin.  Tarapoto, is a city in central-eastern Peru on the edge of the Amazon rainforest, is the most populated city in the department of San Martin and the average annual maximum temperature is 29 ° C.

In this tour you can visit the Huacamaillo Waterfall, a beautiful waterfall that has a large pool for bathing. To get there you walk a path that runs through the middle of a nature reserve. The duration of the hike is 2 hours, the road is enabled for tourist traffic and in its course we cross several times the Cumbaza River where we will also stop to rest and refresh ourselves before resuming the road.  When we return from the hike we will have lunch and we will start our way back to Tarapoto.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Huacamaillo Waterfall (09.00 am – 04.30 pm)

  • 09.00 am We will pick you up at your hotel, from there we move to the town of San Antonio de Cumbaza where the entrance to the reserve for the Huacamaillo waterfall is located.
  • We will hike for approximately 2 hours through an authorized path in the middle of the reserve. During the walk we will cross the Cumbaza River several times and we will stop to refresh ourselves, rest and take pictures.
  • Finally we will arrive at the waterfall where we will bathe and rest, then we will start our way back.  When we return to the car we will have lunch and then return to Tarapoto.
  • IMPORTANT: The realization of the tour depends on the weather conditions, in case of not being suitable will be replaced by another tour.
