TAQUILE, belongs to the district of Amantani and is located 45 km from the regional capital. It has a population of approximately 2,200 inhabitants. The main village is located at 3,950 meters above sea level and the highest point of the island reaches 4,050 meters above sea level. And we will get to this island.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Puno – Uros Island – Taquile Island – Puno

  • 07.00 hrs To do Kayaking in the Uros and Taquile, we will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Esteves Island, where the professional Kayak team will be waiting for us, along with our guide.
  • The Kayak tour in Uros and Taquile, we will depart paddling 1 hour 30 min. towards the island of the Uros on the way we can observe the biodiversity of Lake Titicaca, flora and fauna, we will pass through the rocky formation Foroba Island, popularly called Devil’s Island. Until we reach the Uros, where our guide will give us to know in detail about the construction of the islands (based on totora) and the lifestyle of the inhabitants, then we join the group and continue our journey.
  • We will navigate in Lake Titicaca for 1hrs and 20 min. We will arrive to Taquile Island and we will walk for 35 min. until we arrive to the main square of the town, where you will learn about its history, culture and customs, in the restaurant the locals will invite us to dance and show us their traditions and we will taste a delicious typical lunch overlooking the lake.
    After the kayak tour in Taquile we will have free time to take pictures and buy handicrafts. After our guide’s instructions, we will go down one side of the island to the main port of Taquile where our speed boat will be waiting for us to return to the city of Puno.
  • 15.45 hrs Approximately we will arrive in Puno and transfer to your hotel.
