A Puquio is a water spring that is part of an old aqueduct system near the city of Nazca. Of 36 puquio they built, most are still functioning, bringing fresh water into the desert.
The aqueducts ensured the water supply to the city of Nazca and the surrounding fields, allowing the cultivation of cotton, beans, potatoes, corn, etc. in an arid region. It was built with flagstones and huarango trunks. The aqueducts of Cantalloc have ventilation wells with spiral forms that go down to the subsoil use that allows to obtain subway water.
