Pisco Tasting
Half Day Tour: Drinks and Cocktails Min: 1 person
With the Pisco Tour in Cusco or “Pisco Tasting”, you will be able to experience the taste and aroma of the real Pisco. This tour is ideal for those exquisite palates and connoisseurs of the true Peruvian Pisco.
PERUVIAN PISCO is an alcoholic beverage made from grape brandy that has been produced in Peru since the end of the 16th century. It is the typical distillate is made from the fermented wine of certain varieties of grapes, whose value has crossed its borders to Europe and other parts of America. It is one of the Peruvian flagship products and is only produced on the coast (up to 2,000 meters above sea level) in the departments of Lima, Ica, Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna.
To produce 01 liter of our Pisco requires 7 kg. of grapes, which makes it the most expensive distillate. Other distillates raise its value due to the barrel aging time. Another reason that makes our Pisco special is that it is not hydrated, in the case of other distillates water is added to reduce the alcoholic content, in the case of Peruvian Pisco it is not necessary because its distillation is discontinuous, that is to say, it only uses the part that has the highest content of ethyl alcohol and wine water and it is only distilled once.
A good Pisco must be balanced, the alcohol must be friendly, that is to say, it must be easy to smell and it must not burn on the palate. In addition, the aromas and smells that correspond to each variety should be easily expressed without being overshadowed by the alcohol. The PISCO TASTING, more than a tasting, is a journey through the world of Pisco with tastings and preparations of representative cocktails.
