Day 1: Cusco – Pisaq – Sacaca

  • 07.00 hrs we will pass by your hotel in our private transportation to drive you to the community and on the way we will be able to appreciate part of the Sacred Valley.
  • 08.30 hrs approx. We will arrive at our destination where we will be welcomed by the villagers.

ACTIVITY 1- DEMONSTRATIVE TEXTILE WORKSHOP

In the textile workshop we will learn each step of the Andean weaving process, from obtaining the alpaca and sheep wool, wool selection, natural dyeing, spinning and elaboration of Andean garments such as: Ponchos, llicllas, backpacks, shawls, etc.

Duration: 1h 30min (All the process)

ACTIVITY 2- MUD BIO-CONSTRUCTION WORKSHOP

In this workshop the visitor will learn and help in the construction of huts. This activity consists of mixing fine soil with water and straw to finally produce adobe bricks. During the whole process the visitor will be guided and will have the help of a specialist, who will supervise every detail of the activity.

Duration: 4 hours (the whole process)

ACTIVITY 3 – MEDICINAL PLANTS WORKSHOP

(Optional you can do the one of essential oils)

In this workshop we apply the use of native plants for the preparation of lotions, ointments, tinctures, baths of flowering, etc.. With the purpose of preparing natural alternative medicine for people suffering from any ailment.

Duration: 02 Hours (All the process)

Rest of the afternoon free.

  • 17.00 hrs Return to Cusco city.

  • 7.00 hrs tendremos un exquisito desayuno andino. Después del mismo tiempo libre para actividades del pasajero.

ACTIVITY 4 – ANDEAN BREAD MAKING WORKSHOP (Duration: 2h).

In this workshop we will learn how to make traditional Andean breads with natural ingredients such as wheat flour, Quinoa, Maca, Kiwicha, Potato, Corn, Honey, Milk, etc. This activity is very interactive since visitors can make their own breads and bring them with them. The elaboration is done in a suitable environment and finally the dough is introduced in a clay oven.

Free time for activities of the passenger.

  • 12.30 hrs Andean lunch.

ACTIVITY 5 – OFFERING TO THE EARTH (Duration: 2 h) 

Today we will get to know the mystical side of Sacaca, the offering to the earth, a symbolic way of how the community and the families watch over their products and animals through different Andean rituals transmitted from generation to generation.

  • 17.00 hrs Return to the city of Cusco, approximately.
  • 19.30 hrs We will drop you off at your hotel.
