  • Day 1: Pick up from Hotel – Mollepata – Cruzpata- Sayllapata Soraypampa – Laguna Humantay (16 Km).
  • Day 2: Wayrapata – Chaullay (22 Km).
  • Day 3: Chaullay – La Playa – Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes (32 Km).
  • Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Cusco.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Pick up from Hotel – Mollepata – Cruzpata- Sayllapata Soraypampa – Laguna Humantay (16 Km).

  • 4.00 – 04.50hrs, We will pick you up at the hotel.
  • 05.00 hrs Start of our trip, we will board our transport and then go to Mollepata by the Cusco – Abancay road where we will arrive in approximately 2 h 30 min.
  • 07.30 hrs We will make a stop for breakfast.
  • 08.25 hrs Again we will travel in our mobile the travel time will be 1h 30 min. We will arrive to Cruzpata – Beautiful viewpoint where we will be able to appreciate the snowy Humantay.
  • Later we will arrive to Sayllapata, another natural viewpoint where we can appreciate the valley of Limatambo. And finally to Soraypampa, the icy wind of the area forces to get warm and to set up the tents.
  • 13.00 hrs We will camp for lunch.
  • After a well-deserved rest, we will visit the Humantay Lagoon, beginning of the guided tour, we will have free time to take pictures and enjoy this beautiful spectacular of nature.
  • Then we return to Soraypampa, where we will have dinner and camp for the first night.

Camping – SORAYPAMPA

Day 2: Wayrapata – Chaullay (22 Km).

  • We start walking very early in the morning after breakfast, after 3 hours of walking we reach the highest part 4,600 meters above sea level by the Salkantay Pass where we will appreciate the snowy Salkantay, where it is appreciated in all its magnitude.
  • From here on it is all downhill, we will see the vegetation of the jungle, but with the wind and the sun in the face, at noon we arrive at Wayracpata, where we have lunch. Later we will descend through the jungle until we arrive to Chaullay.
  • 18.00 hrs. We will camp and have dinner.
  • Second day we spend the night in Karpas.

Camping – CHAULLAY

Day 3: Chaullay – La Playa – Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes (32 Km).

  • 05.00 hrs Very early we have breakfast and then start walking to the village of Chaullay, the walk this day is easy. It begins with a descent crossing the Lluskamayo river and a variety of small streams, we can appreciate a diversity of flora, medicinal plants, esoteric, orchids, lizards and snakes, we will arrive at Playa Sahuayaco after 6 hours.
  • 12.00 hrs. We will take a 15 min. break. The horses will return to Mollepata and we will board a bus that will take us to Hidroelectrica. Here we will make a stop to enjoy lunch. Then we continue our trip to Aguas Calientes.
  • We will arrive to Machupicchu town, we will enter to the main square and from there we will be taken to our lodges to take a bath, rest, recharge the batteries of our cell phones and make contact with civilization.
  • We will meet where our guide previously indicated us to have dinner as a group. Afterwards we will have the last instructions for the next day to visit the citadel of Machupicchu. We retire to our hotel and spend the night in that town.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Cusco

MACHUPICCHU, ancient Andean Inca settlement, located in the Eastern Cordillera of southern Peru, in the Andes mountain range at 2,430 meters above sea level; it is located in the Cusco region, province of Urubamba, district of Machupicchu. Machu Picchu would have been one of the resting places of Pachacutec, ninth Inca of the Tahuantinsuyo between 1438 and 1470.

  • Tour to Machu Picchu: Early in the morning we will have breakfast and start the 30 minute bus ride from the town of Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu.
  • We lend the entrance tickets and we will have a guided tour for 2 hours and free time to explore different places such as the Temple of the Moon, Inca Bridge and the Intihuatana. Then we return to the town of Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Ollantaytambo and from there board the bus from Ollantaytambo to Cusco.
