What Tourist Places Can You Visit In Aguas Calientes?

Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu pueblo) is a small town located just below Machu Picchu, it is surrounded by huge mountains and rivers that give it a unique landscape. If you have time and do not know what to do, we show you some tourist places to visit.

THERMAL BATHS OF MACHU PICCHU

Attraction called “natural sauna”, they are sulfurous waters coming from the rocky subsoil, with average temperatures between 32 ºC and 37 ºC. One of the main natural resources for the practice of medicinal therapies with highly curative properties.

WATERFALL OF AGUAS CALIENTES

One of the new tourist attractions of Aguas Calientes, is located at the top of the hot springs of Aguas Calientes, the entrance is included in the ticket to the hot springs. You can appreciate lithic sculptures on the way to the waterfall, you can also see beautiful landscapes and a variety of flora and fauna. Something beautiful that can be seen are otters and birds such as hummingbirds, cock of the rock, hummingbirds, among other species.

HANDICRAFT MARKET

One of the most important centers of production, exhibition and commercialization of decorative and utilitarian handicraft products and articles can be found in Aguas Calientes.

CIRCUIT OF THE CHRONICLES IN STONE

There are 37 sculptures carved in granite stone that highlight the cultural identity and make reference to the Andean cosmovision and the folklore of Cusco, really beautiful!

BUTTERFLIES OF MACHU PICCHU BUTTERFLY GARDEN

This research center is dedicated to the study and conservation of the plants and butterflies of Machu Picchu. It has a botanical garden and an interpretation center where you can appreciate the transformation process of the butterflies.

BOTANICAL GARDEN

It is a large plant conservation center with more than 400 vascular species including plants with flores and ferns, native and cultivated species (some exotic) very representative and ornamental of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

MANUEL CHAVEZ BALLON SITE MUSEUM

It was created in 2005, the museum has as fin, expose and transmit the cultural aspects of the Archaeological Park of Machu Picchu. The museum has seven environments where you can observe lithic elements, metals, ceramics, bones and others.

MANDORPAMPA OR THE MANDOR GARDENS

An incredible tourist place, where you can observe fruits of the area, native trees, orchids, and ornamental plants, also in Mandor you can observe several varieties of birds, butterflies and other species of wildlife. Something very impressive is the murmur of the rivers and streams of crystalline waters that fluyen from the snowy La Veronica to reach its beautiful waterfalls, forming in its course natural wells for bathing and places of spiritual rejoicing.
