- Cusco – Mollepata By bus or car: approximately 2 hours

- Cusco – Limatambo By car or car: 1 hour 50 minutes
- Limatambo – Soraypampa En car: 1 hour 26 minutes

Difficulty of the hike to Laguna Humantay
The hike from Soraypampa takes approximately 1 to 2 hours, depending on the physical condition of the visitor. Although it is short, the altitude (4,200 m.a.s.l.) and steep sections can make it challenging. It is recommended to acclimatize in Cusco for at least 1 or 2 days before taking this hike.
For those who do not wish to walk the entire route, there is the option of renting horses in Soraypampa.
Climate
The climate at Laguna Humantay is typical of the highlands of Cusco: cold and variable. Temperatures can range from 0°C to 15°C during the day, while at night they can drop below zero. Rain is frequent, especially between November and April, so it is recommended to bring waterproof clothing, gloves, a hat and sunscreen.
Flora and fauna
In the area surrounding Laguna Humantay, the vegetation is mainly composed of ichu, the typical Andean grass of the high altitudes. Animals such as alpacas, llamas and high Andean birds can also be seen. The area is ideal for observing how wildlife adapts to the harsh conditions of altitude.
