HUACACHINA LAGOON is an oasis located five kilometers west of the city of Ica, in the middle of the Pacific coastal desert. With green waters, it arose due to the upwelling of subway currents and around it there is abundant vegetation composed of palm trees, eucalyptus (introduced species) and the species of carob tree known as huarango, which serves as a resting place for the flying birds that pass through this region.

It is said that the most famous witch of Cachiche was Julia Hernández Pecho Viuda de Díaz. It is said that she died at the age of 106, after a life full of concoctions and spells. It is said that this witch mentioned that Ica would sink when the seventh head of the “PALMERA DE LAS SIETE CABEZAS”, another tourist attraction in the place, floats to the surface. For this reason, people always avoid the greening of the seventh head, as they continue with the belief that has endured for centuries.
LA HACIENDA SAN JOSÉ, is a place of tranquility and beauty where it not only functions as a museum but at the same time is a lodging, the Casa Hacienda San José has within its facilities a chapel, the entire facade of the church is white. It also keeps terrible things such as a room that was used as a punishment area for slaves, these slaves were heavily tortured that it is said that even the guards put cotton in their ears to not feel the moaning of each of the whipped.
