THE NAZCA LINES, are ancient geoglyphs drawn on the surface of 450Km² that represent straight lines, geometric shapes, animal and even human figures, the same that can only be seen from the air, we will fly over the Nazca Lines.

There are about 300 figures whose measurements range between 50 and 300 meters. The greatest researcher of the Nazca Lines was undoubtedly the famous archaeologist of German origin Maria Reiche, who began her journey as Paul Kosok’s assistant.  Reiche published a book about her findings where she affirms that the geoglyphs have some astronomical meaning. The researcher explains that these lines were used as a gigantic solar and lunar calendar by the ancient Peruvian astronomers, which allowed them to forecast better stages for harvesting, as well as rainy seasons.

LINEAS DE PALPA, located in the villages of Sacramento, Pinchango and Llipata. Similar to the Nazca Lines, they are enormous drawings or geometric figures; animals and plants.

SOLAR CLOCK, 1 km from the city of Palpa, in the place known as Sacramento, on the slope of a hill there are lines and swept areas, geoglyphs that are known as Solar Clock. According to some researchers, at the time of the equinox, the line shows the signal or reflection of what would be a good or bad harvest year. At the moment it is also known with the name of the Loom, but its figure is associated to many more that are around it and on the plateau of the Sacramento Ridge, constituting a true ENIGMATIC vestige.

There are 3 km where dozens of petroglyphs of the Paracas period, more than two thousand years old, rest. It begins, this route, in the km 7.5 with the petroglyph THE STAGES OF LIFE, impressive. It is a truly enigmatic figure, because it presents the oldest character with three legs, in addition to other characteristics in its set, really enigmatic. Among the most relevant figures we can appreciate representations of condors, felines, snakes, llamas, Andean deer, among others. Petroglyphs with more than 4000 years old.

PETROGLIFOS DE CHICHITARA, located approximately 10 km east of the city of Palpa, are the Petroglyphs of Chichitara which in Quechua means “rain of sand”, these petroglyphs are distributed in three sectors and are shaped on volcanic and alluvial rocks. On them you can appreciate images of warriors, felines, birds, snakes, monkeys and beings with anthropomorphic features with three fingers that are presumed to have been made by men of the Paracas, Nazca and Huari cultures.
