Traditional Cusco City Tour

01:00 PM – Hotel pickup and start of the tour

Our team will pick you up from your hotel located in the historic center of Cusco. If your accommodation is located outside the center, the meeting point will be at our office. From there, we will begin this tour through the main historical attractions of the city.

01:15 PM – Visit to the Cusco Cathedral

We will enter the Cathedral Basilica of Cusco, considered one of the most important colonial temples on the continent. During the visit, we will explore its impressive altars, artwork from the Cusco School, and valuable gold and silver pieces that reflect the historical wealth of the city.

02:10 PM – Walk through Inca streets toward Qoricancha

We will continue walking through the traditional streets of the historic center while our guide explains the Inca architecture that still remains integrated with the colonial constructions.

02:20 PM – Visit to the Qoricancha Temple

We will tour the famous Temple of the Sun or Qoricancha, considered the most important religious sanctuary of the Inca Empire. Here, we will learn about the Andean worldview, Inca architecture, and the history of the Santo Domingo Convent built over its ancient walls.

03:00 PM – Visit to the Sacsayhuamán Fortress

We will board our tourist transportation to head toward Sacsayhuamán, one of the most impressive constructions of the Inca Empire. During the visit, we will learn the history of its massive, perfectly fitted stone blocks and its ceremonial importance within the ancient capital of the Tahuantinsuyo.

04:00 PM – Tour around Q’enqo

We will continue to Q’enqo, an important Inca ceremonial center where we will observe passages carved out of solid rock, ceremonial channels, and an amphitheater used for religious rituals. Our guide will explain the spiritual significance of this fascinating archaeological complex.

04:40 PM – Visit to Puca Pucara

We will reach Puca Pucara, known as the Red Fortress due to the color its stones acquire during sunset. This archaeological site functioned as a military post and administrative center that controlled access to the city of Cusco.

05:10 PM – Tambomachay, the Water Temple

Our last visit will be Tambomachay, an important sanctuary dedicated to the cult of water. Here, we will appreciate its channels, fountains, and aqueducts built with an extraordinary hydraulic engineering that continues to function to this day.

06:00 PM – Return to the historic center of Cusco

At the end of the tour, we will return to the city center, very close to the Plaza de Armas. From there, you can continue exploring Cusco, enjoy its gastronomy, or prepare for your upcoming adventures to the Sacred Valley or Machu Picchu.
