The season with less rain, generally between April and November, usually offers better conditions for hiking and excursions. However, the Amazon maintains a warm and humid climate year-round, and conditions can vary depending on whether you visit Manu, Tambopata, Iquitos, Tarapoto, or another destination.
Tambopata is ideal for wildlife watching, river navigation, and visiting Sandoval Lake. Manu stands out for its vast biodiversity and multi-day expeditions. Iquitos allows you to navigate the Amazon River and visit local communities. Tarapoto combines high jungle, waterfalls, lakes, and adventure activities.
Recommendations can vary based on the destination, age, and health conditions of the traveler. The Ministry of Health recommends getting vaccinated in advance before entering jungle areas. It is important to consult a health center and check for possible contraindications before getting vaccinated.
