The Potato Route is an experiential tourism experience that allows you to discover the origin of one of the most important foods in the world. Located in the Potato Park near Pisaq, this excursion combines nature, culture, traditional agriculture, and Andean gastronomy in a unique journey through communities that conserve hundreds of native potato varieties and ancestral knowledge inherited from their ancestors.

Potato Route Cusco Tour

08:00 AM – Hotel pickup and journey to Pisaq

Our team will pick you up from your hotel in the city of Cusco to begin the journey toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way, we will enjoy stunning Andean landscapes until we reach the traditional town of Pisaq, from where we will continue for a few more minutes to the Potato Park.

08:30 AM – Welcome to the community and visit to Kinsaqocha Lagoon

Upon arrival, we will be greeted by the local residents, who will share their traditions and knowledge of potato cultivation with us. Then, we will take a light hike toward the beautiful Kinsaqocha Lagoon, enjoying spectacular high-Andean scenery.

11:00 AM – Medicinal plants and crafts workshop

After visiting the lagoon, we will return to the community to participate in an interesting workshop where we will learn about the properties of various Andean medicinal plants used since ancient times. We will also discover the artisanal process of textile making and natural products created by local residents.

01:00 PM – Traditional lunch in the community

We will enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the community families using different varieties of native potatoes cultivated in the Potato Park. This gastronomic experience will allow you to discover the traditional flavors of Andean cuisine made with local products.

03:30 PM – Free time and farewell to the community

Before heading back, you will have time to explore the community, purchase handicrafts made by the residents, and take final photographs of the beautiful Sacred Valley landscapes.

05:00 PM – Return to Cusco

We will conclude this experiential tour by setting off on our return journey to the city of Cusco, where we will drop you off near the Plaza de Armas or at your hotel, according to prior arrangements.
